Don't buy him a present.
Guys really donValentines't want a present for Valentines Day. The best present imaginable for a guy in the sixth grade is knowing that there is a really sweet girl out there who likes him. You can do that with a card and, if you're feeling particularly daring, a quick kiss.
A little preemptive, don't you think? How do you know by that time he won't have a girlfriend or that you'll still even like they guy for that matter? But, it depends what he's into. A CD by his favorite artist or a shirt or jeValentines dayrsey geared toward his favorite sports team... something that shows you put though into it.
If he's into sports you can get him something with his favorite team. Maybe a ballcap. It should run you less than $20 at the mall, I think.
New or good condition cast iron horseshoe without rust with the U shape facing up for good luck.
6th grade? some cheap (money-wise) cologne would do the trick! make sure you like the smell too of course.
